Would You Rather Read a Book Written by AI or a Human?

Even in my wildest dreams, I can’t think that anyone would rather read a book written by AI – a machine – than a human! Imagine you’ve been eagerly looking forward to reading this new book. Eagerly, you pick it up and start reading, only to realize it wasn’t written by a person at all—but generated by artificial intelligence. Does it still feel the same? Do the words resonate as deeply?

I feel cheated when I download a special report or article, only to discover after the first couple of paragraphs that it’s machine-drafted. How much more disappointing would it be to find this in a book!

As AI technology advances, machine-generated writing is becoming more common. AI can mimic patterns, compile information, and even generate entire books in minutes. But there’s one thing it can’t replicate: the depth of real human experience.

The power of human insight

A book isn’t just words cleverly strung together—it’s a window into the author’s thoughts, struggles, and unique perspective. When you read a book written by a person, you’re connecting with their experiences, emotions, and wisdom.

AI can gather facts but can’t share the feeling of overcoming adversity, the joy of discovery, or the vulnerability of personal storytelling. Readers connect with books because they see themselves in the author’s journey. Think about that for a moment—when was the last time you read something that truly moved you? Chances are, it wasn’t written by a machine!

And yes, we can have an entire discussion on the quality of using prompts—but seriously, the time spent feeding a machine prompts could be time spent writing a chapter or two of your own book!

Why your story matters NOW more than ever

Have you hesitated to write because you’re not sure your voice is “good enough”?

Now is the perfect time to start—it’s the write time.

What makes your writing valuable isn’t perfection—it’s authenticity.

Readers don’t want sterile, machine-written content. They crave human connection, real insight, and personal experiences that challenge and inspire. That’s why your story, your ideas, and your perspective matter.

The best way to start? Journaling

If you’re ready to write a nonfiction book that resonates with readers, journaling is the best place to start.

Journaling isn’t just a way to record your thoughts—it’s a practice that helps you explore your ideas, reflect on your experiences, and build the confidence to share your message with the world. (And here’s a secret: Machines can’t do that. Only humans can).

By journaling daily, you’ll discover themes, insights, and personal stories that no machine could ever replicate. Over time, you’ll uncover the powerful message you’re meant to share.

The choice is yours: A book written by AI or you…

So, would you rather read a book written by a machine—devoid of real human insight—or one shaped by real experiences, emotions, and wisdom?

The same goes for writing. Readers want to connect with you, not just words on a page. Your perspective is unique, and your voice is irreplaceable.

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to start writing, this is it. Open your journal, put pen to paper, and begin capturing the stories only you can tell.
